Senior Leadership Team

The senior leadership team keeps operations going smoothly and flawlessly for the students and parents. The team makes sure that teachers and students are worry-free and are able to concentrate on education and extracurricular activities. The offices are full every day with questions, PE uniform purchases, lunch deliveries, etc. The business office handles tuition payment plans and guides parents on accounts.

The thing that stands out the most was, and still is, AISK's sincere interest in all the details of my son's life. Every bump in the road, big or little, is met with love, concern, and a new and improved strategy.

As a leadership team, it is our responsibility to ensure the decisions that are made honor the vision and mission of AISK. The team takes an active role to intentionally look at the instructional program and the delivery of the program, ensuring that we are giving students opportunities to “contribute and thrive” and have an “impact on the world”, thus shaping the future. This allows for student initiatives to take shape, giving an AISK experience where students are truly taking charge and learning the skills it takes to “shaping the future”.

They take the learning from the classroom and apply it to situations they deeply care about, creating events and forums to bring the school community along with them. Our multi-skilled team creates an environment that facilitates a dynamic student experience that allows the student to apply the learning in the classroom to their school community, the external community, the island and to the world.

It is a great pleasure to welcome you to AISK. As you take a virtual look at our school, you will instantly see that there is such depth to who we are. We are a strong and resilient community, firmly rooted in our values and traditions.

Great schools have several things in common and one of those is great teachers. As a Principal it is vital I provide teachers with the support, resources and tools for them to be able to inspire, nurture and develop the students in their care.

The same happens for our students, by providing a welcoming and caring atmosphere that has positive relationships, high expectations and student well being at the heart, then we create not only a place where students can grow but teachers can too.

I'm thrilled to join the American International School, Kingston family as the new Elementary Principal for the 2026/27 academic year! Originally from Liverpool, England, my journey in education has taken me across four countries over nearly 20 years, and I couldn't be more excited to soon call Jamaica home.

Most recently, I served as Senior Director at a school in Budapest, Hungary. Before that I served as the Elementary and Early Years Head at BASIS International School in Chengdu, China, where I had the privilege of building the founding team, culture, and school community in this brand new school. Before that, I spent four years as an Instructional Coach at American International School of Kuwait, work that reinforced my belief in the power of personalized support for teachers and data-driven instruction to help each of our students thrive and succeed.

I hold a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, with my research focused on coaching and transformational leadership in diverse international schools. I'm also certified in Understanding by Design, Creating Cultures of Thinking from Harvard's Project Zero, and have had the opportunity to present on topics like developing coaching cultures and creating school-wide reading programs across the international education community.

The AISK Leadership Team has collectively over 200 years of educational experience with a wealth of views and ideas and information. We are a very collaborative group of good listeners, and we understand that our job is all about the students and meeting challenges daily, annually and strategically. Above all we serve; our students, our parents, our faculty and staff. It is great to feel like a part of a system or structure where your views actually matter.

Our multi-skilled team creates an environment that facilitates a dynamic student experience that allows the student to apply the learning in the classroom to their school community, the external community, the island and to the world.

In our team meetings, I often find that I have been strategic and confident in the ideas and solutions that I bring to the table. I have to be continually thinking critically about the AISK Way, in order to contribute in a manner that ensures that the decisions made will have a positive impact on our school community. This is how I can ensure that our students will continue to thrive in Jamaica and in a diverse world.

As a lifelong international educator and leader and the newly appointed MS/HS Principal, I come to the AISK community with a deep belief in the power of community, of education, and in the potential and promise of young people. There is not a day that I am not grateful for the gift of working with them and for them.

I look forward in joyful anticipation to an amazing year ahead with all of you. My door is always open, please stop by.

Leadership in a school is responsible for creating a climate hospitable to education and for establishing a school-wide vision for commitment to high standards and the success of students.

For AISK to move forward, the leadership team has to develop and understand an agreed-on purpose and a vision that focuses on all aspects of school life, and one that informs planning and development.

The leadership team is made up of the leaders of our departments such as Student Support, Teaching and Learning, IT to name a few. It is with this group of leaders that we ensure that our Mission of “our students shape the future,” is continually at the forefront of our discussions.

It is with these discussions that I am able to garner the relevant information to ensure that the plant has the learning and outdoor spaces, that we have hired the correct staff, and that our school activities and field trips enhance the learning of our students. This team advocates for our students to ensure that they receive the best education and experiences so that they can transfer this knowledge to our wider community, Jamaica and the world.

Every decision we make as a leadership team at AISK is driven by our vision and mission. We ask ourselves, “How are we meeting our mission and vision for our students through this initiative?” I am often reminded of how the very skills that we reinforce with our students are the skills that are required of me to employ every day. Thinking critically, mindfully and working collaboratively are key to the success of our educational program. We work with a team of highly qualified, compassionate administrators who are committed to the school’s mission and vision and promote our core values. This sense of community and purpose help us stay grounded and always looking forward to an even brighter future.

School’s are very busy environments and planning for the current academic year would have begun the previous year with the team delivering on the Strategic Plan broken down into annual goals. When the ship sails on the first day in August the team executes according to the plan, so how do new initiatives and projects get piloted, and buildings get planned and built?

That’s where I come in! As project lead along with the support and expert guidance and input of this team, we get to dream big for our students. AISK stays on the cutting edge of education using the latest research to bring on new and exciting programs that will enhance the learning experience of our students, and the teaching experience of our faculty. There’s never a dull moment at AISK.

It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to AISK for the 2024-25 school year. I am looking forward to working with the administrative team to create an environment where all of our students have the greatest opportunity for success. At AISK, our mission is to “shape the future” by nurturing not only the academic but also the physical, emotional, and social development of our students. Athletics provides a unique opportunity to teach invaluable life skills such as teamwork, resilience, discipline, and leadership. These are the qualities that empower our students to make a meaningful impact on their community and the world.
Our athletics program is designed to challenge students to push their limits, discover their strengths, and develop a lifelong passion for sports and fitness. Whether it’s through competitive sports teams, recreational activities, or fitness programs, we aim to offer diverse opportunities for all students to participate and succeed.

I am incredibly proud of the dedication and hard work displayed by our coaches, staff, and student-athletes. Their commitment to excellence and sportsmanship is what makes our program truly exceptional. As we move forward, we will continue to strive for excellence, celebrate our achievements, and learn from our challenges.

My name is Will Vincent and I am the Grades 11 & 12 Coordinator. I hold a degree in Zoology from Durham University, UK and a Masters in Conservation biology from UCL, London, where I also completed my teacher training. I have been involved with the IB and IB schools since 2008 working in a variety of positions like Head of Science, Head of College Counseling and IB DP Coordinator. I was initially inspired to teach as I was in love with biology and it was an excellent way to stay engaged with the subject and the more I experienced teaching the more I realised how much I loved the "a ha" moments for students. Coming to AISK I have been impressed by the genuine desire to put students at the centre of what the school does, this is particularly evidenced by the development of separate HS and IB classes for grade 11 and 12, allowing a wide diversity of student choice for a relatively small international school.
