Enhanced Athletics
At AISK, we believe in nurturing well-rounded individuals who excel academically and athletically. That's why we are thrilled to unveil our dynamic new Athletics Program, designed to take your child's sporting journey to new heights!
Building on this year's successful participation in national and regional sporting events across many disciplines, the Athletics Program will now introduce even more exciting opportunities for your child to thrive.
Meet the Athletics Team
Dexter McFarlane
Exercise, sports and being healthy are very important to human development. AISK has ensured that programmes are put in place to assist students in these areas and to develop holistically. I have nearly twenty years’ experience teaching Physical Education at the elementary level and have continued in this position at AISK since 2005. I hold a Diploma in Physical Education, a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Middle Grades Education and a Master of Science (MSc.) in Sports Administration.

Having been at AISK for more than 16 years, I enjoy working with the small classes, which I believe enables the students to express themselves and maximize their potential for learning. Additionally, my passion for healthy living and being active allows me to thoroughly enjoy teaching and sharing this interest with students.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family members and friends, as well as listening to audio books and watching documentaries.
AISK Hurricanes come to know themselves and one another on campus, on field trips, finding joy and growth through academic challenge, outdoor experiences, artistic endeavors, and athletic passions.

AISK Athletics
The Jamaican Independent Schools Association coordinates a variety of competitions between independent schools. AISK currently enters the JISA Football league with U12 Coed and U19 boys.

It is our vision to place teams in competitions for all activities we participate in. We are extremely proud of our teams as members consistently demonstrate that they are excellent ambassadors for themselves, their families and for the school.

Whether you are a soccer, basketball or tennis player, swimmer, golfer or skeet shooter, we have competitions and opportunities for you to join, participate, have fun and improve your skills. AISK offers sports that are practiced on campus on a regular basis, as well as sports that are practiced at different facilities around the city. Whatever the sport, you are always a Hurricane and participating in our athletics program is a valuable place to learn and grow through competition and coaching. #GoHurricanes!
