Welcome to Middle School

Welcome to Middle School!
At AISK, our Middle School students are engaged in learning in a one to one environment with small class sizes and lots of opportunities to build leadership skills.  As Middle School students become more self-aware, they are able to make decisions that are best for them. Building self-esteem and confidence are key to creating lifelong learners who act with integrity and respect.

Our Middle School core team of internationally-minded teachers educate the whole child and provide support for our students. Modeling behaviors and communication styles that we would like our students to adopt is one way that AISK achieves excellence. We all make mistakes, we must admit to them, and accept the consequences of our decisions.

Middle School students are encouraged to collaborate, question, solve problems and communicate with enthusiasm.  We shape learners who know how to wonder and inquire, how to be global citizens, how to discover and how to create.  AISK’s Strategies of Success courses help students build communication skills, technology skills, study skills, while being interdisciplinary in nature.  Social-emotional wellness is a key component of our Strategies of Success courses.

AISK curricula embrace the American educational model and international best practice. Students in Middle School sit MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) tests twice a year, with this adaptive test helping teachers customize the learning experience for each learner. STEM learning is a focus of Middle School with all students becoming empowered inventors and problem solvers. All Middle School students explore 4 different creative arts courses (Visual Art, Music, Dance, and Drama) to develop skills over three years.  All courses in Grades 6-10 are linked to AERO (American Education Reaches Out), NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) and other subject-specific standards to provide teachers with a framework to help students make the connections between themselves and the multicultural world we all live in.

Please explore our website and discover more about AISK. You will become acquainted with the myriad of ways we seek to nurture and inspire the young people in our care.

We welcome inquiries from students, parents, and educators.  Our faculty is passionate about what we do and we would love to share this with you with the hope that you will join our community of learners.  If you have any questions or would like to meet up to discuss learning at AISK, please just email me and let’s get to know each other.
