Welcome to Elementary School

AISK’s Elementary Program consists of 100 energetic and enthusiastic students from our Early Years Program right up to Grade 5.  Students and teachers come from Jamaica as well as from countries all around the world.   With such a diverse student population lead by such an international and passionate faculty, the development of strong, empowered and informed global citizens is a priority, but it also happens naturally.

Students are engaged in the classrooms through Project Based Learning.  21st century skills such as creative thinking, problem solving and structured collaboration are all very important in order to succeed later on in life and all skills that are applied in our classrooms.  Students come to us from all over the world with different kinds of abilities, knowledge and structure from all kinds of schools internationally.  What better than Project Based Learning and through the use of Centers in our classrooms to take advantage of such diversity in order to deliver our curriculum?  Our classrooms are a diverse, dynamic and energetic place to be where everyone, regardless of where they are coming from, is a valued and energetic participant.

Outside of the classroom, there are a variety of sports, clubs and activities that are organized.  Student government is an important aspect of our Elementary Campus where students are consistently reminded that the more ideas that they bring forward, the more things we, as a faculty, will hear and direct them to move on.  Our clubs, sports and activities are organized after school.  From tennis, to sewing, to cheerleading to robotics and book clubs, there is an activity for your son or daughter to get involved with.  Our coaches and supervisors are a mix of both staff members and outside providers.  All are passionate about their activity and about working with kids.

It is our belief that all members of the community of AISK have great ideas, valuable experience and an important point of view, and we take great pride in making sure that we, as a staff, provide as many opportunities as we can to hear them.

This is a fantastic school and community that I am proud to be a member of and strongly encourage you to join us as well!  We are available for visits, email questions, interviews or campus tours at your convenience so come and take a look around and see for yourselves!
