"The arts make us feel connected to one another and less isolated. Through the arts we share an emotion and that sharing connects us with each other and we realise we all feel the same emotions. The arts are our last hope. We find our identity and make it easier and more pleasurable to live and they also give us wisdom." Arthur Miller (Playwright and Director)

Our Dramatic arts program at AISK allows our students to use their creativity in problem solving. Student’s perceptions about their world and themselves are challenged and explored through our drama classes and students are provided with an outlet for emotions, thoughts, and dreams. We explore new roles and experiment with various personal choices and solutions to challenges in their own life, or problems faced by characters in scripts and novels. This all happens in a safe environment where actions and consequences can be examined and discussed and experienced without the dangers of such experimentation in the real world. Students who participate in drama are less likely to have trouble with public speaking and have a more positive, confident self-image. Drama requires self-control and discipline, which will serve students in all areas of their lives. Collaborating is key in our drama classes preparing our students for a world that is increasingly becoming more team-oriented.
Our new membership with ISTA allows the school to participate in festivals worldwide, the opportunity to host festivals as well tremendous professional development opportunities for our Arts faculty.
