The Arts are a universal form of human expression and therefore vital to the development of the whole child. The Arts in education exists for the purpose of enabling each individual to realize and maintain his/her full potential. Music, visual arts, drama, and dance, as social, intellectual, and physical disciplines, specifically support the holistic development of each child.
The arts promote an atmosphere that embraces cultural diversity. Students who are exposed to the art of past and present cultures learn about themselves, the society in which they live, and people throughout history. At a deeper level, it is the arts that allow us to develop a sense of community and belonging, through collaboration and accountability. The study of the arts serves to enrich all facets of our being by providing an avenue for the development of the emotional, intellectual, social and cultural, individual intelligences.
Music, Dance, Drama and the Visual Arts comprise our vision of the Creative & Performing Arts that expose our students to varied experiences in the arts. The Creative & Performing Arts at AISK plays a significant role in the personal development of our students. The confident, creative and capable students that develop from the rich artistic explorations are better prepared to go into the world and and make a difference in our local and global communities.
