The foundation for integrating STEM subjects into our curriculum is Project Based Learning (PBL). This is not simply "doing projects". PBL involves in-depth inquiry-based learning across a range of subjects, forming driving questions and challenges, basing learning on rigorous standards, and making important connections.
In the face of rapid technological change, AISK Project STEM is designed in recognition of the need for students to think freely across disciplines, engage with difficult real-world questions, and collaborate in designing solutions.
Students make connections and take charge of their learning when they engage in "everyday" activities or functions. They learn about measurement and volume while making backpacks for school, or recording their own cooking show while simulating the formation of sedimentary rock.
S.T.E.M brings out the creativity, passion, and vigor for learning in each child and takes them on an adventure in the investment of their own learning.
