Basketball is one of the most popular games globally. Playing basketball has many physical and emotional health benefits which include development of endurance and self-discipline and building lasting friendships. Playing basketball as an ASA is a healthy choice.

Our high school book club is a community of students who come together to discuss and explore literature. Members typically choose a book to read collectively, then meet regularly to share their thoughts, interpretations, and reactions. This club provides an opportunity for students to engage in critical thinking, develop communication skills, and foster a love for reading.

The CDT School | For persons aged 11-15 years old, The CDT School, AISK's resident dance school, offers dance classes in both ballet (Tuesdays) and modern dance (Wednesdays and Fridays). These classes are for students with a serious interest in dance and a desire to hone their technique and develop their performance skills as a dancer. There is an end-of-year performance and awards ceremony at the Phillip Sherlock Center for the Creative Arts (UWI, Mona).

Supplementary technique class with The CDT School or any other external dance institution is highly recommended. The AISK Junior Dance Ensemble meets primarily on TUESDAYS, however, Thursdays are also utilized for rehearsals when approaching a performance or competition.

The middle school improv drama club teaches the fundamentals of scene work and focuses on communication, creativity, and joy. The club will focus on short form activities and warm-up games to allow students to connect to one another and develop performance skills.

The Drama Club in trimester 1 will be an auditioned group of actors made up of both High School students. Rehearsals will be every Monday and Wednesday after school for leads and on Wednesdays for minor characters. In addition to the performers, other students can choose to work on the production crew of the show. These students will be responsible for sets, costumes, light and sound design and production.

Fencing has thousands of clubs throughout the world and now there’s one offered here at AISK!  From beginners to experts, the Kingston Fencing Club will work with our students in grades 3-8 to learn how to Fence. It’s a sport you can participate in for life!

This club is open to Middle and High school students regardless of their skill level or experience.

The Model United Nations Club (MUN) welcomes students in grades 10-12 for semester 1 as we prepare to participate in the THIMUN, the model UN in The Hague, Netherlands. The Hague International Model United Nations (THIMUN) is for our older students with MUN experience. Training starts in August for participation in January. THIMUN may include grade 10 students as the youngest, but only after careful consideration.

STEM Club will allow students to be exposed to the concepts of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in a less formal setting. It will allow students to not only learn, but to also apply what they have learned to real world situations and fun projects and experimentation. This initiative will allow students (especially pre-IB) to explore their passions and gain exposure to various and applicable concepts. High School students are invited to join in Trimester 1, and students in grades 6-8 in Trimester 2.

MS/HS Swimming comprises a focus on conditioning and technique development to prepare students to demonstrate Hurricane spirit at local school competitions. To enter the MS/HS Swim Team Group, a swimmer must be able to swim 50m of freestyle with rhythmic breathing and 25m of backstroke.

Track and field is a sport that includes athletic contests based on running, jumping, and throwing skills. Our Track and Field club will include sprinting, running middle distances, hurdles, and long jump.

The Yearbook Club is a student-led club open to high school students who have a particular interest in graphics, journalism and photography. Members will participate in the process of creating the AISK 2024/25 yearbook using Jostens online software program. Students will help plan, design and sell/distribute the yearbook while developing their skills in teamwork, communication, and meeting publishing deadlines. The club is a great way to make new friends and to express yourself creatively.
