In Visual Arts, students are introduced to higher levels of artistic thinking and art making. The primary focus at this time is to stimulate and encourage artistic exploration and expression, while honing basic skills that will be necessary for more purposeful work in the upper grade levels. Through guided research and visual and written recording, students are trained to develop a deeper connection to their art, themselves and the wider community, both locally and internationally. Students are encouraged to be curious. By developing curiosity about themselves, others and the world, students become effective learners, inquirers and creative problem-solvers. The Evening of the Arts event in June provides an opportunity to celebrate the students’ work.
