About NHS

The National Honor Society is based upon student excellence in four areas: Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Character. Members participate in various community activities including visiting the National Children’s Home and fundraising for charity. In order to become a member of NHS, a student must be in grades 9-11, have attended AISK for at least one semester and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.2. A form is given to these students to provide information regarding character, leadership and service. Anonymous Faculty Council chosen by the MS/HS Principal makes selection of new inductees. The Chapter Advisor is there to facilitate but does not participate in the voting process. The students who are invited into membership have the responsibility to continue to demonstrate these qualities once they are members. A ceremony is held at the end of the academic year. The current Chapter Advisor for NHS is Mr. Norman Niles.
