Middle School Student Government

Middle School Student Government is a student-led organization developed to give a voice to Middle School students. It is a model of the democratic process, while teaching students how to collaborate to enhance the school experience for students in Grades 6-8.

The primary roles for the members of the MSSG are to:

  • Act as mediators between Middle School students and the school's administration. They meet monthly with the Middle School Principal to address student issues, concerns and suggestions.
  • Host a variety of events to build camaraderie among Middle School students.
  • Support community outreach activities among Middle School students.

Elections are held annually to appoint students to the Executive, which is comprised of the President, Vice-president, Treasurer, Secretary and Technician. They are joined by class representatives who each serve the organization for a quarter. To qualify to serve on the MSSG, candidates must maintain an average GPA of 2.5 or higher.
