Applying to AISK

First priority is given to siblings of AISK students and US Embassy students. The target classroom size for all grades is sixteen (16) students with a provision to increase to twenty (20) students with appropriate educational support.

AISK recognizes that a student may have special learning/emotional needs that require services beyond the school’s resources.  The Director is responsible for student admission decisions and individual eligibility according to the guidelines.

Guidelines for acceptance:

Pre-Kindergarten

  • Children must be 4 years of age on or before September 30th.

Kindergarten

  • Children must be 5 years of age on or before September 30th.
  • Children are required to interview with the Kindergarten teacher who will decide at that point if the child needs to be assessed.

Grade 1-5

  • Children are required to do admission assessments.

Grade 6-12

  • Children are required to do admission assessments unless they have completed any standardized testing within the year of admission.
  • Academic records for the past three years must be submitted with registration for students entering high school.
  • Recommendation letters from Mathematics and Language Arts Teachers are required

Vaccinations must be up to date: DPT, HIB, Polio, MMR and Hep B.

Items to turn in for registration all grades:

  • Completed registration form
  • All required academic records
  • Two passport size photographs
  • Copy of Birth Certificate and/ or copy of passport
  • Copies of Vaccination Records
  • External Standardized Test Results (if available)
  • Any special evaluations done by schools or outside sources

These items must be translated into English before they will be accepted.

AISK applicants will be assessed at their age appropriate grade level for placement.
