AISK's Commitment to the IB Learner Profile Philosophy

IB_Learner_Profile_imageAs an IB World School, we believe that learning should cater to the whole child.
The IB has developed a Learner Profile that is designed to illustrate what whole-child learning should look like.  Specifically, we believe that all learners should be...

  • Inquirers
  • Knowledgeable
  • Communicators
  • Principled
  • Open-Minded
  • Caring
  • Risk-takers
  • Balanced
  • Reflective

Through student-centered learning, teachers strive to help students develop these attributes to realize our school vision.  So when your child comes home from AISK, instead of asking how the day was, try asking questions such as, "Did you take a risk today?" "What knowledge did you acquire?"  "Were you open-minded in your discussions?"  By reinforcing these ideas, you become part of the learning process and helping your child reach his or her potential.
