Powerful Academic Information Systems

We have been investigating the needs for two essential core services at our school.  Firstly, the urgent need for a fully operational information system which will assist with online grading, scheduling, enrollment and everyday administration at school. Secondly, the need for secure and managed access to school learning resources that can easily be accessed at any time from any location without having to search dusty folders and filing cabinets.

The school has used Hurricane as a testing ground to justify such solutions and we have quickly learned from this valuable first tool that we need systems that can be easily integrated, are robust, and have strong foundations that have been rigorously tested and improved over time.  Hurricane has prepared the ground well for new enhancements and essential developments in these areas.

PowerSchool - Our #1 Choice for Managing Student Information

This key educational tool is the #1 student information system (SIS) for schools in the world.  PowerSchool is a secure and scalable system that is easy to maintain and affordable for our school.  PowerSchool will provide support for our student enrollment, fees tracking, online grading, daily attendance, scheduling and daily bulletins together with essential support and training. We really don’t have the time or the resources to rebuild all of this from scratch, and fortunately we don’t need to -- we can partner with a company that has thousands of other educational users, and the strong implementation and training services necessary to provide the excellent support we require.

Moodle - Our #1 Choice for Online Curriculum Management

After very much research with popular online publishing tools such as Google sites, Wordpress, Studywiz, eBlogger and our iWeb software we now know that Moodle offers the best solution for manageable curriculum content that can be reliably accessed.  Currently AISK uses paper-based systems that historically have lead to curriculum content and design that is inaccessible and consequently rarely used, or used once then never again.  The technology department enthusiastically recommends Moodle as The tool for collaboration and curriculum design at AISK.
