Your School Technology Support Teams

The head of the IT department is Mr. Derwin Kitch, IT Coordinator.  Mr. Craig Fongyee is Systems Manager and runs the Help Desk. Mr. Omar Miller is our Systems Administrator, keeping our IT network running.  We also have Ms. Isabel Perez as our IT teacher for the Elementary School.

AISK’s new Technology Steering Committee is a high-level planning group tasked with setting the school’s direction for future use of technology. The Steering Committee’s secondary goals are to create more transparent communication of technology plans and decisions, and to ensure that all stakeholders are represented in the decision-making process. The committee meets once each term and includes a Parent representative; a Student representative; representatives from the Elementary, Middle and High Schools; and representatives from the school’s Administration and Technology Department. At the moment we are short one member, as the Parent committee member’s schedule did not permit attendance at the meetings. If you’re a Parent and you’re interested in helping to shape our use of technology to come, please let us know!

The Technology Steering Committee members are:

Our students have been keen to contribute and support our new Apple initiatives. Working with some of our best and brightest we have formed AISK’s SWAT Team: Students Willing to Assist with Technology. Members are participating in a new pilot program which will continue to expand, yielding valuable personal development opportunities for our technically inclined ‘digital native’ students.  The team will assist with future school productions, assemblies and special events that require technical support.  They will help evaluate new systems and track and support the school’s technology resources. We hope this team will continue to grow and enhance the 1:1 laptop program for everyone at our school.

Our school community has also contributed with keen insights and valued support which has ensured meaningful technology developments at school.  This has been assisted through regular news updates available 24/7 on our new AISK Technology Development site, which we are pleased to now make public for the entire community.  Please feel free to visit http://sites.google.com/site/aisktech for a closer look at technology developments at the school. If you have insight or suggestions, we want to hear them: we hope you will always feel comfortable contacting us with your valuable ideas and recommendations.
