As the school counselor, I would like to welcome you to The American School of Kingston. Here at AISK, we are dedicated to helping students reach their highest academic goals while maintaining a healthy physical and emotional life. In all divisions, students are supported both emotionally and academically by faculty, homeroom teachers, coordinators, a full-time ESL teacher, a resource specialist, as well as a certified K-12 counselor. The department of the Student Support & Advising Services is dedicated to enhance the opportunities students have to be successful in school as well as life after AISK. We support the academic program in the elementary, middle, high schools and assist students to adapt to new and developing circumstances that challenge their growth as they progress through each grade. Such support may include classroom guidance, college counseling, remedial instruction, and enrichment opportunities.
The Student Support & Advising Services staff seeks to find those unique strategies and solutions that will enable all students to be successful. Simultaneously, we attempt to reinforce with students their responsibilities as learners and communicate in ways that are consistent with that goal. We are constantly developing and revising our programs to ensure that we are serving the needs of all of our students.
